Universities and colleges should promote diversity. For Equal Opportunity Week, the focus will be on three aspects:
1.) Supporting students with special needs. An accessible environment should be provided for these students—one that is available to everyone, regardless of individual challenges.
2.) Promoting intercultural competence in teaching. By developing intercultural sensitivity, instructors can create an inclusive learning environment.
3.) The diversity of teaching materials. Discussions will focus on how to integrate different perspectives and backgrounds into the curriculum to reflect a broad spectrum of voices and thus create a more inclusive learning environment.
In addition to active discussion, successful real-world examples provide inspiration. Initiatives and projects will be presented that have already brought about positive changes regarding equal opportunity and diversity, including at the HSZG.
Equal Opportunity Week invites faculty, staff, and students to participate. Together, we can exchange ideas and find ways to make the educational landscape at HSZG even more inclusive and diverse. Equal opportunity and diversity are central pillars of a modern university community that enable the participation of various stakeholders. Join us in celebrating Equal Opportunity Week with Teaching Day! This special week offers a good opportunity to highlight and recognize the importance of good teaching. Above all, the Week of Equal Opportunity serves as a platform for exchange between faculty and students. In addition, lectures, workshops, and opportunities for discussion will be offered during this week to help improve the quality of teaching.
