Is teaching and learning with augmented and virtual reality even possible? Opportunities and challenges for visualization, instruction and interaction in university teaching

In the first part of the short face-to-face workshop, you will be introduced to good practices in which augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) have been designed and used in university teaching. The second part offers you the opportunity to try out these technologies and explore how you can integrate them into your own teaching in a didactically meaningful way.

Begin 28. September 2023 - 14:00
End 28. September 2023 - 17:15

The educational opportunities and possibilities offered by augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) lie primarily in visualization (interactive 3D representations), instruction (interactive and location-independent), and interaction (virtual control panels, hand and finger gestures, voice commands). In this short in-person workshop, we’d like to show you the possibilities and opportunities these technologies offer and give you time to gain hands-on experience with them.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this short online workshop, participants will be able to

  • to identify best practices for using Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR) in teaching and

  • outline the opportunities and challenges associated with the use of these educational technologies.
