Laboratory didactics
The continuing education program deals with the various didactic functions and design approaches for experiments in engineering education, including their integration into the discovery of knowledge and identification of requirements.

Working with experiments can take on very different didactic functions in engineering education, which also requires different design approaches. Of particular interest is the integration of experiments into the various ways of gaining knowledge. The continuing education course addresses the main conditions and decision-making fields in the didactic planning of laboratory work, classifies types of experiments in the teaching-learning process and identifies didactic requirements for experiments depending on how they are embedded in the knowledge pathway structures. Based on this, support systems for students' laboratory didactic work are derived.
Learning objectives
The participants
- know basic conditions and decision fields for the didactic planning of laboratory work.
- are able to classify experiments under different aspects and know the essential requirements for experiments in the teaching-learning process
- know basic methods of finding knowledge and are able to position experiments functionally within these methods and thus structure practical laboratory work from an epistemological perspective.
Procedure
The continuing education program comprises 8 AE in presence, 4 AE each on July 4 and 5, 2023. Online participation is possible via hybrid events.
