Fail Forward - For a glass of clarity with Julia Ochmann

The second evening of the "Fail Forward" event series will take place on November 25, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at G I Bluebox, Room 1.18, in Görlitz.
With her fascinating talk titled “…somewhere between educational mobility and the glass ceiling,” Julia Ochmann will offer us a glimpse into her life story this November:
“How did I make it from public housing to the lecture hall of an elite Scottish university, and from low-wage food service jobs to an international management consulting firm? With courage, self-confidence, and hard work—just kidding; the academic system is unfair, and the so-called ‘meritocracy’ and patriarchy leave multiply marginalized groups—and first-generation college students in particular—behind. Over a glass of Aperol (non-alcoholic, of course), I’d like to tell you how these circumstances have shaped my educational journey and how I’m learning to fail independently within the system.”
