Fail Forward - For a glass of clarity with Julia Ochmann

The second evening of the event series "Fail Forward" will take place on 25.11.25 from 18:00 to 19:30 in the G I Bluebox, room 1.18 in Görlitz.
With her exciting input "...somewhere between educational advancement and a glass ceiling", Julia Ochmann will give us a biographical insight in November:
"How did I make it from social housing to the lecture hall of an elite Scottish university and from sub-minimum wage catering jobs to international management consultancy? With courage, self-confidence and diligence - no fun, the academic system is unfair and the so-called "meritocracy" and patriarchy put multiple marginalized groups and especially first-time academics at a disadvantage. Over a glass of Aperol (non-alcoholic, of course), I would like to tell you how these circumstances influence my educational biography and how I am learning to fail independently in and against the system."

The lecture will cover topics such as homelessness, poverty, mental illness and experiences of violence.
