Digital Workspace (for teachers): Designing and integrating e-assessments: Tips and tools for teachers
Designing e-assessments in a didactically targeted manner and implementing them technically is often a challenge for teachers. In the workspace, participants receive tips on practical implementation, a variety of practice-oriented impulses and space to try things out.

E-assessments are used to evaluate learners' knowledge levels and enable instructors to select appropriate learning content, identify key areas of focus, plan learning opportunities, choose teaching methods, and form learning groups. Diagnostic assessments—such as placement tests for introductory courses, self-assessments for choosing a major, or entrance exams prior to internships, as well as through formative assessments to determine the level of knowledge and learning progress within a class / course, these formats provide valuable information for shaping future teaching and learning processes. The integration of electronic exercises and tests into teaching enables instructors to tailor instruction to students’ needs.
This Digital Workspace offers:
- an introduction to the didactic fundamentals of e-assessments as well as an overview of the functions of diagnostic and formative assessments
- ideas for conducting assessments and examples of best practices from the higher education landscape
- Support in designing and testing e-assessment formats for your own teaching

- February 2, 2025: Self-study modules become available (REGISTRATION STILL OPEN)
- April 28, 2025: Completion of the self-study modules and deadline for submitting assignments / assessment proposals

What is a Digital Workspace?
In open workshop formats, all stakeholders involved in teaching at the partner universities (see below) can work on the design and development of digital media-supported teaching and learning scenarios. By drawing on a wide range of expertise and engaging in peer exchange, they not only expand their individual skills but also directly implement a concretely planned project in the field of digital higher education. This creates immediate added value for the instructors themselves and for the universities as a whole.
