TRAWOS research colloquium "FioKo - final project results"

The FioKo project - "Promoting women through individual and organizational skills in education and careers (MINT)" is coming to an end. At the research colloquium, questions and findings will be considered and discussed together. FioKo dealt with the underrepresentation of women in STEM professions and subjects, analyzing schools and career orientation as well as subject cultures, entrepreneurship and individual support measures such as mentoring and coaching. The HSZG conducted a systemic analysis of the academic STEM sector in Saxony. The data was based on problem-centered interviews with women from various STEM subjects at different career stages. These were analyzed using the Soft Systems Methodology and used to develop a workshop format. In addition, a reconstructive interpretation took place, which revealed the political and cultural framework conditions. Adherence to meritocratic ideals and the belief in gender-neutral science are key factors influencing the career paths of the women surveyed. Key findings will be presented and discussed in the colloquium.
