The Master's degree program in Computer Science qualifies you for demanding management tasks in software development and prepares you specifically for positions as a software architect or project manager. In a world where the value of software in products and services is constantly increasing, you will acquire the skills to manage complex software projects, design innovative solutions and lead teams.
Practical specialization with a scientific foundation
On the Master's degree program, you will develop advanced specialist knowledge in these key areas:
You will learn how to develop innovative software architectures, implement complex algorithms and ensure quality standards in development processes. The intensive supervision in small groups enables you to develop individually. You will receive continuous feedback on your projects from experienced professors who are experts in their field, both in theory and in practice. The research project in the third semester gives you the opportunity to work on current issues in computer science and test your skills in a real-world context.

The Master's degree program in computer science takes you four semesters to acquire in-depth specialist knowledge and methodological skills. The course combines theoretical foundations with practical application and offers you increasing scope for your own specializations.
In the first two semesters, you will acquire in-depth knowledge in core areas of modern computer science. You will deal with topics such as machine learning, advanced database concepts, web services, XML-based applications and IT security management. From the second semester onwards, you will begin with individual specialization phases that allow you to set your own focus according to your personal interests and career goals - for example in areas such as interactive systems, IT management or software engineering. The third semester offers you further specialization options and includes a research project in which you work on a real-life problem and apply scientific methods. In the fourth semester, you will focus entirely on your Master's thesis, in which you will work independently on a challenging topic and demonstrate the skills you have acquired.
Individual specialization phase 1
Individual specialization phase 2
