Course content

The Master's degree program in computer science takes you four semesters to acquire in-depth specialist knowledge and methodological skills. The course combines theoretical foundations with practical application and offers you increasing scope for your own specializations.

In the first two semesters, you will acquire in-depth knowledge in core areas of modern computer science. You will deal with topics such as machine learning, advanced database concepts, web services, XML-based applications and IT security management. From the second semester onwards, you will begin with individual specialization phases that allow you to set your own focus according to your personal interests and career goals - for example in areas such as interactive systems, IT management or software engineering. The third semester offers you further specialization options and includes a research project in which you work on a real-life problem and apply scientific methods. In the fourth semester, you will focus entirely on your Master's thesis, in which you will work independently on a challenging topic and demonstrate the skills you have acquired.
