Second German-Russian study certificates awarded

On September 15, eleven students from Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences received German-Russian study certificates for their active participation in the “Kostroma International Week 2017” in Russia. This was the second time the joint study certificate, with a focus on “Intercultural Understanding,” was awarded. The program’s partners are the Institute for Humanities and Social Technologies at Kostroma State University and the “Studium Fundamentale” program at HSZG.

Those responsible are Prof. Dr. Olga Pankratova, Lecturer Dr. Tamara Denisova (both from Kostroma State University), as well as Honorary Professor Dr. Klaus Werner and Frank Schneider (both from HSZG).

Since 2011, German students in the “Studium fundamentale” program have been participating in an intercultural summer school in Kostroma. The two universities have maintained a wide range of academic ties for more than ten years as part of a higher education partnership. As a concrete result of the summer school, a student at HSZG plans to spend a semester abroad in Kostroma, and in May 2018, several Russian students will once again come to HSZG for a complementary course.
