In memory of
It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to our longstanding colleague Dr. Jürgen Scheibler.
It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to our longtime colleague Dr. Jürgen Scheibler, who passed away during the night of December 28–29, 2024, following a serious illness.
Dr. Scheibler joined what was then the Zittau University of Engineering in the 1980s as a research assistant. After earning his doctorate, he initially devoted himself with great dedication to research in the faculty of electrical engineering. Later, he played a pivotal role in shaping the university by establishing and successfully leading the Controlling department. The KLB system he developed for planning and accounting for teaching activities is still in use today and was groundbreaking for the objective evaluation of teaching performance.
In the final years of his professional occupation, Dr. Scheibler returned to his professional roots to support teaching at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. With great dedication and success, he took on the “Electronics” module and inspired many students with his lectures, seminars, and internships.
Dr. Scheibler was not only a highly esteemed expert but also a consistently collegial and helpful person who shaped our university over the course of decades. His passing is a great loss for our university community.
We will always honor the memory of Dr. Jürgen Scheibler.
In silent remembrance.
