Anniversary celebration & Campus Party

We are celebrating 50 years of the Zittau University of Engineering: join us and experience a colorful day on the Zittau campus followed by a party.

#throwbackHSZG

The Zittau University of Engineering was founded 50 years ago. This made Zittau a university town. We are taking this anniversary as an opportunity to celebrate with you! We want to look back and forward and provide an insight into our current work and development prospects. You can expect a varied program with a science lounge, a sports and campus festival with hands-on activities for young and old, exhibitions, open laboratories and much more. In our high-voltage hall, we will be showing the popular demonstration of experimental live music and electrical high-voltage experiments "KLANG SPANNUNG LICHT 2.0".

Dear members, friends, supporters and companions,

50 years ago, a new chapter was opened in Zittau. With the founding of the University of Engineering, Zittau and Upper Lusatia became a university location, there were predecessor institutions and successor institutions, most of you are familiar with the facts. We take this as an opportunity to celebrate, to look back, but also to look ahead. The members of the celebration committee, whom I would like to thank for their hard work, have put together a truly extensive and varied program.
There should be something for everyone - you are cordially invited. I look forward to seeing you there!

Prof. Dr. Friedrich Albrecht
Rector of Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences

Dear students,

You want to celebrate?
No problem - we're giving you a campus party for our anniversary celebration with cool bands, a great stage, cool drinks and delicious food. So pack up your friends, put on your festival outfit and dance the night away with us!

It's going to be great!

  • Stage program

14:00 - 16:00      Broadcast of the festive event

    16:00 - 16:45      Mr. Creamy

The creamiest band in the world!
With the rock classics of the 80s, 90s and 2000s, the Oberlausitz cover band Mr. Creamy creates an exuberant atmosphere and brings the wild times back to life.

    17:00 - 17:45      Science-Speech

    18:00 - 18:45      Moonmind

Moonmind makes fine melancholic-optimistic and profoundly catchy indie pop. Music that doesn't just catch your ear. It goes into the heart, into the stomach and finally into the head.

    19:00 - 20:00      Post Modern Orchestra

Eight musicians on stage with twelve instruments, transforming scenic soundscapes and instrumental novellas into emotional experiences and inviting you to dance at the same time.

    20:15 - 21:00      Samadhi

Stage, light show, sound, crowd, head nodding to the beat, hands in the air.
Soul-inspired beats, native hip hop, funk influences. Samadhi stands for positive, energetic songs.

    21:15 - 22:15      JPATTERSSON

There is dub. There's downtempo and techno, but it echoes far beyond genre boundaries. There's a summery hint of reggae, but refreshingly different than usual. It sounds extremely casual, but also wonderfully danceable.

    22:30 - 23:30      Dauerwelle Wasserstoff

    The Schlager punk band!
There's something for everyone here, the finest punk rock and the first best of 100 years of Schlager music - a delightfully controversial misunderstanding that reveres both genres at the same time.
