Prof. Kristan Schneider

He is a professor of modeling and simulation in the Faculty of Applied Computer and Life Sciences at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences. Prof. Schneider’s research focuses on mathematical population genetics. In his Science Slam talk, “Monkey Penises, or: How Evolution Works,” he’ll present his research findings with a touch of humor.

Prof. Uta Kirschten

She is a professor of human resource management at West Saxon University of Applied Sciences in Zwickau. Prof. Kirschten researches how the digitalization of the workplace is changing the labor market and what employment and career opportunities are available to women in companies. In her presentation, she will explain her research topics on “Gender Equality and Women in the Digital Workplace” to the audience.

Daniel Fiß

His research focuses on transport and storage containers (Castor containers) designed to hold spent nuclear fuel from nuclear power plants. Mr. Fiß’s presentation aims to bring transparency to these processes and, through his expertise, help cool the heated debates that often arise when the topic of nuclear technology is discussed.
