We mourn the loss of Ms. Julia Renger, who holds a Diplom in mathematics.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our longtime colleague and university professor, Ms. Julia Renger. She left us far too soon on February 18, 2021, after bravely battling an illness.

With Ms. Renger’s passing, we have lost a valued colleague and dedicated employee who went above and beyond the boundaries of her faculty to serve the university. A graduate in mathematics, she worked as a laboratory engineer in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Her colleagues appreciated her above all for her diligent and reliable work, which she carried out behind the scenes as a programmer with great expertise, but also for her respectful and friendly manner toward everyone. She always had an open ear for students’ questions. In her classes / courses, she was able to present even complicated topics in an understandable way through her logical approach and teaching skills.

As a liaison for students with severe disabilities, she advocated for their interests at the university for many years and, in this role, also participated in a number of hiring procedures.

We mourn the loss of an open-hearted and dedicated colleague who was admired for her tenacity and her human qualities. We honor her memory.
