Traveling exhibition on radiation research

An exhibition of the Competence Network Radiation Research at the HSZG from June 12 to July 4, 2019.

The exhibition “Radiation Research” aims to illustrate the wide range of effects that ionizing radiation has on our daily lives. On the one hand, there is radiation exposure from radioactive substances in our environment, from cosmic rays during flights, and from the ingestion of radioactive substances in food or through smoking. On the other hand, there is the use of X-rays in medical diagnostics and cancer therapy, as well as in functional testing of human organs using specific trace elements.

Through illustrations and explanations of natural and artificial radiation exposure, medical applications in diagnostics and therapy, and basic research, this exhibition presents a broad spectrum of radiation exposure and research.

The exhibition aims to help strengthen the position of radiation research not only in the scientific community but also in the public eye.

This exhibition is aimed at all interested faculty and students at the university, as well as high school and technical high school classes, and interested members of the public.
