Elections at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences Have Concluded

In June of this year, new elections were held at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences to select the group representatives to the Faculty Councils, the faculty Equal Opportunities Officers and their deputies, the student representatives to the Senate and the Extended Senate, as well as the Faculty Student Committees.
The process concluded in early July with the election of the new faculty leadership —the deans, associate deans, and deans of academic affairs.

The following were elected:

• Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Worlitz as Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science,
• Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd Bellair as Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering,

• Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Jens Weber as Dean of the Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences,
• Prof. Dr. oec. Ute Pflicke as Dean of the Faculty of Managerial and Cultural Studies, and
• Prof. Dr. iur. Erik Hahn as Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Engineering Management.

Prof. Dr. Andreas Hoff was reelected as Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

About the individuals:

• Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Worlitz, at the university since November 2001, field of appointment: “Project Planning for Automation and Mechatronics Systems,”
• Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd Bellair, at the university since March 2014, field of expertise: “Design Engineering,”
• Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Jens Weber, at the university since March 2014, field of appointment: “Physical Chemistry,”
• Prof. Dr. oec. Ute Pflicke, who has been at the university since August 2012, in the field of “Tourism Economics, with a focus on Destination Management,”
• Prof. Dr. iur. Erik Hahn, who has been at the university since September 2016, in the field of “Civil Law/Business Law/Real Estate Law,”
• Prof. Dr. Andreas Hoff, at the university since January 2011, field of appointment: “Social Gerontology.”

The newly elected deans and the equal opportunities officers will take office at the start of the winter semester, on September 1, 2018, for a term of three years.
