The HSZG is actively involved in preserving the Umgebindehaus landscape in Upper Lusatia.
This year's annual lecture evening of the Umgebindehaus Information Center focused on Umgebinde houses and their surroundings.
On May 22, builders, planners and Umgebindehaus enthusiasts listened to presentations on the history of the settlement and the house, the exterior of the Umgebindehaus, suitable garden design and endearing details such as fountains and p(l)umpen* in the garden.
The interesting and entertaining presentations held the audience spellbound for more than 3 hours. The organizers would like to thank the speakers Dipl.-Ing. Wieland Menzel, Dipl.-Arch. Christian Schurig, Dipl.-Ing. Ulrike Neumann and Hans-Peter Nestler as well as all the audience members for the lively discussion and exchange of experiences.
The series of annual lecture evenings will continue on May 27, 2020. The lecture topics will be selected from suggestions made by the participants.
