German-Russian study certificates were awarded on May 10 for active participation in the "International Week Zittau/Görlitz 2019" in Görlitz. The joint study certificate with a focus on "Intercultural understanding, intercultural communication and regional studies" was awarded for the fourth time. The cooperation partners are the Institute for Humanities and Social Technologies at Kostroma State University and the Studium fundamentale at the HSZG. Those responsible are Prof. Dr. Olga Pankratowa, lecturer Dr. Tamara Denisowa (both Kostroma State University) as well as Hon. Prof. Dr. Klaus Werner and Frank Schneider (both HSZG).
Prof. Dr. Viktor Litvinovic, Minsk State Linguistic University (Belarus), Prof. Dr. Irina Kalacheva, Minsk State University (Belarus), Dr. Anna Lomonosova, St. Petersburg State University of Economics (UNECON) (RUS) and Prof. Dr. Marina Metz, Protestant University of Social Work Darmstadt, were welcomed as guest academics at this year's week.
German students in the Studium fundamentale have been taking part in an intercultural summer school in Kostroma since 2011. For more than ten years, the two universities have maintained a diverse academic relationship as part of a university partnership. As a concrete result of the summer school, another HSZG student intends to spend a semester abroad in Kostroma and in September 2019, 15 German students will once again travel to the University of Kostroma for a summer school.
Two students from Görlitz actively supported the organization of the Intercultural Week. They were involved in Studium fundamentale as part of the International Study Buddy Program. The project is supported by the DAAD with funds from the Federal Foreign Office (AA).
