Zittau is always worth a visit
Students from Tongji University in Shangai at the Summer School at the HSZG.
For the first time, seventeen students from the Sino-German University of Applied Sciences (CDHAW) at Tongji University in Shanghai attended a summer school at HSZG. It has now become a tradition for CDHAW students to participate in a summer school in Germany during their semester break. New this year was that the two-week trip to universities in Mannheim, Göttingen, Prague, Regensburg, and Munich also included a stop at the HSZG in Zittau. The group was accompanied by the director of the CDHAW, Prof. Feng Xiao, and Ms. Ma Yiming from the International Office in Shanghai. The group was responding to an invitation from Prof. Frank Worlitz, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, who, together with Prof. Wolfgang Kästner, was responsible for organizing and supervising the program.
In addition to selected experiments in the state-of-the-art laboratories of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, the summer school program also included a tour of the Zittau Power Plant Laboratory and the Zittau South Signal Box, which is also used for teaching at the faculty. Of course, on such an occasion, a side trip to the nearby Zittau Mountains was a must. We took the narrow-gauge railway to Oybin. In addition to the beautiful scenery, the hike in 35°C heat will surely be remembered.

The HSZG is a member of the German University Consortium for International Cooperation (DHIK). As part of this program, up to ten mechatronics students have been coming to the university each year since 2007. This year, an additional thirteen students from Mexico are expected. German students are also increasingly taking advantage of the opportunity to spend a semester abroad in China or Mexico.
