His Excellency Peter Györkös, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to the Federal Republic of Germany, will be a guest of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences on Thursday, March 30, 2017. He will speak at4:15 p.m. in Building G I 1.01 as part of the East-West College lecture series on the topic of "Strengthening entrepreneurship in Hungarian cities beyond Budapest as a contribution to urban culture" and will then be available to all interested students and citizens for a discussion.
The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences has been closely linked to Hungary for many years through the Dual Degree Master's Program with the Hungarian Capital of Culture 2019 Pécs. Görlitz students regularly report on the excellent support they receive from Hungarian professors.
In the 2017 summer semester, the East-West College will focus on the topic of "Urban Culture, Urban Development". The lecture series is jointly organized by the Faculty of Management and Cultural Studies at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, Studium Fundamentale, the Institute for Cultural Infrastructure Saxony, the Catholic Academy in Berlin and the Protestant Academy in Berlin. H. E. Dr. rer. pol. Peter Györkös received his doctorate in 1992 from the Budapest University of Economics on the subject of "Plans for German Unity in the Period of the Division and Unification of Germany". He had previously studied international relations at Moscow State University.
