Hungary's ambassador visits the HSZG

His Excellency Peter Györkös, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to the Federal Republic of Germany, will be a guest at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences on Thursday , March 30, 2017. He will speak at4:15 p.m. in Building G I 1.01 as part of the Ost-West-Kolleg lecture series on the topic “Strengthening Entrepreneurship in Hungarian Cities Beyond Budapest as a Contribution to Urban Culture” and will then be available for a discussion with all interested students and members of the public.

Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences has had close ties with Hungary for many years through its dual-degree master’s program with Pécs, the 2019 Hungarian Capital of Culture. Students from Görlitz regularly report on the excellent guidance they receive from Hungarian professors.

In the summer semester of 2017, the East-West College is focusing on the topic “Urban Culture, Urban Development.” The lecture series is jointly organized by the Faculty of Managerial and Cultural Studies at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, the Studium Fundamentale, the Institute for Cultural Infrastructure in Saxony, the Catholic Academy in Berlin, and the Protestant Academy in Berlin. His Excellency Dr. rer. pol. Peter Györkös received his doctorate in 1992 from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences with a dissertation titled “Plans for German Unity during the Period of Germany’s Division and Reunification.” Prior to that, he had completed a degree in international relations at Moscow State University.
