TÜV courses for students

In October and November, students—primarily those in the natural sciences and engineering at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, as well as students at the International University Institute in Zittau—can participate in TÜV courses to become certified as occupational safety or energy management officers.

These supplementary courses are offered as part of a partnership between TÜV Rheinland Akademie GmbH and the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG). The partnership is based on a long-standing collaboration between faculty members at the University—such as Prof. Dr. Jana Brauweiler, Prof. Dr. Tino Schütte, and Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Sebastian Riedel—and TÜV Rheinland Akademie GmbH in Dresden.

Participation in the courses is attractive to students because they are offered at special, affordable University rates, and students receive the “TÜV Certificate”—which is highly valued in the job market —as proof of their knowledge and skills. This can be particularly important when starting a career.

Course: Energy Management Systems According to ISO 50001

Start Date: October 24, 2016, Zittau

Registration deadline: October 17, 2016 (Online registration!)

Course Content: Based on the qualifications acquired in this course, you will be able to analyze a company’s energy management system for weaknesses and areas for improvement, and to develop technological and management-related optimization proposals for the company’s energy management. The “Energy Management Officer” certificate (TÜV Academy) you earn is valid indefinitely.

Course: Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems according to OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001

Start Date: November 2, 2016, Zittau

Registration deadline: October 24, 2016 (Online registration!)

Course Content: This course provides the qualifications you need to take on (shared) responsibility for implementing an occupational safety and health management system within your company. The certificate you earn (from the TÜV Academy) is valid indefinitely. The course is aimed at students from a wide variety of degree programmes with no prior knowledge of health and safety.

Academic continuing education is a growing pillar of Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. The ZWT organizes courses for students and members of the university as well as for graduates and specialists and managers from many industries.
