Meet the HSZG!

There’s plenty going on outdoors this weekend in Eastern Saxony. At the Zittau festival “Summer in the City” this coming Saturday, our students will showcase their artistic talents, and at two fairs—one of which is virtual—those interested can learn more about the university.

Summer in the City: Students Take the Stage

On the weekend of July 10 and 11, summer comes to the city of Zittau with a “beer garden under the palm trees,” a big band and harp music, theater and movies, clowns and acrobats—for young and old alike. And summer brings with it the fair at the festival grounds on Brückenstraße, featuring exciting attractions such as a 40-meter Ferris wheel, bumper cars, the Aqua King, the Free Fall Tower, and the Ship Swing.

You can experience all of this at locations including the market square, the Klosterhof, the Fleischbänke, St. John’s Church, the fairgrounds on Brückenstraße, and the open-air stage in Weinaupark.

Our students will represent the university at this festival with music, magic, and humor. We are very pleased that four students from the university have agreed to participate in this festival.

Kamenz Career Fair: Career Guidance at the Airfield

The 2021 Career Fair will take place outdoors on Saturday, July 10. From 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., around the control tower at the Kamenz airfield, interested students and their parents, as well as other interested visitors, can talk in person with exhibitors about their companies, career paths, fields of work, and apprenticeship opportunities, and make new connections.

Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences will also be there. With our eye-catching university bus bearing the slogan “Study Here,” we’ll be clearly visible to everyone on the approximately 9,000 m² grounds. We invite you to give it a try! The university is bringing two STEM Trail stations where students can test their skills and try things out for themselves.

Of course, with over 50 exhibitors on site, food and drinks will be available.

Virtual INSIDERTREFF: Visit the “Study Hall” from Home

“What’s your calling?” That’s how visitors are greeted on the website for the second virtual INSIDERTREFF. Career assessments for those who are undecided, internships and summer jobs for people who want to try something new, companies and institutions offering apprenticeships, degree programs, or even a year of volunteer service—students can find all of this at the virtual fair.

The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences has its own exhibition hall. Each of our faculties has its own booth. At information stands, visitors can pick up—virtually, of course—flyers about the individual degree programs. On a computer, interested visitors can navigate from booth to booth using the mouse and arrow keys. On mobile devices, you can explore the fair by tilting and swiping.
