HSZG and Zittau are inviting you to Zittau on 09.11.2016 under the motto "Metabolism of today, clothes make the man".
Following the Environment Day on 19.10.2016 in Görlitz, the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG) and the city of Zittau would like to shed light on various areas of the textile and clothing industry, highlight risks and opportunities and discuss challenges on Wednesday, 09.11.2016 at the Zittau site under the motto "Stoffwechsel von heute, Kleider machen Leute" .
Lectures, film screenings and exhibitions on the history of the textile industry offer plenty of 'material' and the opportunity to immerse yourself in the industry that has had a decisive influence on our home region.
After the official welcome by the Vice-Rector and the Mayor of Zittau, Thomas Zenker, in the Peter-Dierich-Haus (Z V), Theodor-Körner-Allee 8, Room 0.02, the lectures "Textile History of Upper Lusatia" and "Environmental Awareness in Textile Finishing" will provide interesting insights into the topic.
After the break, the company WESOM will show you what technical textiles are capable of and the Weltladen Zittau will tell you all about FairFashion with the presentations "Technical & intelligent textiles" and "The slow fashion perspective", before the panel discussion with Prof. Dr. B. Delakowitz begins.
There will also be plenty to eat and drink. After the panel discussion, the Volksküche Zittau will be waiting for you in the foyer of the Peter-Dierich-Haus (Z V) with vegan food for little money. Here you will have time to visit our exhibitions or for further debates on the topic of "textiles" before we invite you to our free film screening of "The True Cost" in room 0.01.
Discuss social and ecological facets of textiles and their sustainable production with students, HSZG staff and panel guests.
