HSZG and the city of Zittau are inviting visitors to Görlitz tomorrow under the motto "Today's metabolism, clothes make the man".
The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG) and the city of Zittau would like to highlight various areas of the textile and clothing industry, highlight risks and opportunities and discuss challenges on Environment Day on 19.10.2016 in Görlitz and on 09.11.2016 in Zittau under the motto "Today's metabolism, clothes make the man ".
On both days, there will be plenty of material on site in the form of lectures, film screenings and exhibitions to immerse yourself in the history of our region, which has been decisively shaped by the textile industry.
A very special kick-off event will be held today to set the tone for the theme. With the "Stoffwechselparty" in the foyer of Haus G I in Görlitz at 4.00 pm, you can "store" in a completely different way. Bring along selected items of clothing that have been hanging in your overcrowded closet for far too long, were a bad buy or no longer fit properly.
On 19.10.2016 , the Day of the Environment will make a stop at the Hermann-Heitkamp-Haus (G I), Furtstraße 2, Room 0.01, in Görlitz.
The Sustainable Campus modular system project at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences will kick things off at 13:00. Other presentations will shed light on our regional textile history, working conditions in Indian spinning mills and the use of clothing donations.
The start-up company NEONON will then introduce itself before the panel discussion begins, in which you can take part in a stimulating debate. Finally, the university will present a screening of the documentary film "The True Cost".
Discuss social and ecological aspects of textiles and their sustainable production with students, HSZG staff and panel guests.
