Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is officially one of the most popular universities in Germany. In the StudyCheck Ranking 2026, the largest independent student ranking in Germany, HSZG achieved 19th place out of 113 universities assessed, making it one of the top 20 most popular colleges and universities nationwide.
In Saxony, the HSZG is even the most popular university overall and takes first place in the state ranking, ahead of major universities such as TU Dresden and Leipzig University.
The award is based on 87,093 verified evaluations by students and alumni from all over Germany.
