This coming Thursday, January 11, 2018, the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences will open its doors from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for the College Information Day. In addition to “taster lectures,” open labs, and the MINT Mobility Trail, prospective students can once again expect a wide range of activities at both university campuses.
At the Peter-Dierich-Building in Zittau (lecture hall building, Z IV, Theodor-Körner-Allee 8), the degree programmes of the Faculties of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (department of Electrical Engineering), Mechanical Engineering, Natural and Environmental Sciences, and Business Administration and Engineering Management.
University staff and students will be on hand as subject-specific academic consultants to answer questions. Through a variety of short presentations on a wide range of topics, tomorrow’s students will have the opportunity to gain insights into regular studies at the HSZG and see for themselves the modern learning environment. In addition to the lecture halls, the laboratories will also be open for this event, offering plenty to discover.
This also applies to the academic programs offered by the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. Students of the natural sciences interested in pursuing graduate studies can learn about the new three-semester master’s degree programme in “Pharmaceutical Biotechnology” for the first time. Starting in the upcoming winter semester of 2018, the seven-semester Bachelor degree programme in “Applied Natural Sciences” with a focus on chemistry in the life and material sciences will be available. This degree programme will also be offered as a KIA degree programme, which includes integrated training to become a chemical laboratory technician or pharmaceutical technician.
Those interested can learn about opportunities to study abroad and get hands-on experience at the “MINT Mobility Trail” organized by the Faculties of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, and Natural and Environmental Sciences.
The Görlitz campus has just as much to offer. At the Hermann-Heitkamp-Building, G I, Furtstraße 2, in addition to subject-specific academic consulation for the Department of Computer Science and the degree programmes in the Faculties of Managerial and Cultural Studies and Social Sciences, there will also be counseling sessions on topics such as housing, studying abroad, and financial aid options like BAföG (German financial aid for students). General overview information about studying at HSZG, participation in “taster lectures,” and tours of open laboratories round out the program at the Görlitz campus.
