Student shines at STAR*PARADE

HSZG business administration student presents his innovative business idea and convinces the high-caliber jury.

On July 12, 2024, the first pitch round of the STAR*PARADE took place in the “Students & Researchers” category. Students and researchers from Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG), the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU), and the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau (TH Wildau) presented their innovative business ideas to a high-caliber jury and an interested audience at Celsiuz in Zittau.

Winning Idea Stands Out for Innovation and Style

The STAR*PARADE finals were held on September 19, 2024, in Cottbus. Johann Paul, a student on the Business Administration degree programme at HSZG, won in the “Students & Researchers” category. His business idea— an innovative business model for luxury handbags with functional additional features —impressed the jury and was recognized as the best pitch in the “Students & Researchers” category, earning him prize money of 500 euros and a voucher for a consultation with a patent attorney. The idea originated as part of the “Start-up” module in the summer semester of 2024, during which Johann impressively demonstrated his entrepreneurial skills.

I am grateful for the opportunities made possible by events such as the StarParade. In addition to networking, there are good opportunities for inspiration and motivation. I can therefore only recommend it.
