Electricity meets amazement!

At the "Ring on Feier" Festival of Light in Zittau, the high-voltage technology team enchanted the audience with a specially built Tesla transformer that made recycled fluorescent tubes shine again.

On August 30, 2025, the Green Ring in Zittau was transformed into a sparkling stage: The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences presented itself at the "Ring on Feier" festival of light with a spectacular contribution that amazed many visitors.

The High Voltage Engineering department of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science ' built its own Tesla transformer, which was used to light up recycled fluorescent tubes in the shape of the HSZG logo. The transformer generated impressive electrical fields in a secure area. Spectacular discharges and the glowing tubes gave the evening a very special atmosphere.

The Student Council of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences was also represented at the Festival of Light with a stand and an impressive play of colors, which attracted many visitors.

HSZG meets Ring on Feier!

The "Ring on Feier" festival transforms the Zittau city ring into a wonderful world of light, art, music, performances and culinary delights - organized by "Tradition und Zukunft Zittau e.V." and created with great commitment by volunteers from the region.
