Application Period for the Germany Scholarship Begins
Students and first-year students can apply online for the first time from July 1 to August 16.
All students at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences who would like to use a monthly stipend of 300 euros to enable themselves to focus entirely on their studies—and who want to see their academic achievements and social engagement recognized—should pay good attention now.
With the start of the new application period from July 1 through August 16, 2020, they can once again apply for one of the highly sought-after Germany Scholarships at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
Applicants can expect a change in the process. Starting immediately, applications for a Germany Scholarship will be accepted exclusively online. The online application portal provided by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research is available for this purpose.
When the application period begins, a link will appear on our website will feature an external link directing applicants to the DSTIP application server. This link will be activated at the start of the application period, from July 1 (9:00 a.m.) through August 16, 2020 (11:59 p.m.).
The application must be uploaded to the application portal in its entirety, including all required attachments, within this time frame. Only then will it be considered valid and processed accordingly.
What is the Germany Scholarship?
The Germany Scholarship supports talented and dedicated students at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. In addition to good grades and academic performance, the award process also takes into account social engagement and exceptional personal achievements—such as successfully overcoming obstacles in one’s educational journey or volunteering with organizations. Awards and prizes received are also considered. In addition to academic performance, the focus is on the student’s character.
Even if social engagement in clubs and organizations or active participation—for example, in university committees—may be on hold due to the current situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s still worth submitting an application. ”Anyone who is enrolled at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences or is making an application for a place at university is eligible to apply.
The Germany Scholarship amounts to 300 euros per month. Of that amount, 150 euros are provided by private sponsors such as companies, foundations, alumni, and other private individuals. The remaining 150 euros are provided by the federal government.
The Germany Scholarship is paid directly to the recipients by the universities. The scholarship is awarded regardless of income and can also be received in addition to BAföG (German financial aid for students). The standard award period covers one academic year (September 1, 2020 – August 31, 2021).
