Springer publishes Zittau conference proceedings on high-tech manufacturing
The proceedings of the 1st and 2nd EADTC conference, which was initiated in Zittau, are now available as Open Access from Springer-Verlag.
The results of the 1st and 2nd European Advances in Digital Transformation Conference (EADTC), which was launched on November 29, 2018, in Zittau, have now been published as open access in a conference proceedings volume by Springer-Verlag. The conference proceedings bring together research findings from the European Horizon 2020 research project iDev40, in which Prof. Sophia Keil and her team from the Faculty of Business Administration and Engineering Management have also played a key role.

The volume was edited by Sophia Keil (Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences), Rainer Lasch (Dresden University of Technology), Fabian Lindner (Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences), and Jacob Lohmer (Dresden University of Technology), with significant contributions from Josef Moser and Sabine Allmayer of Infineon Technologies Austria AG. The papers included in the volume address current challenges in semiconductor manufacturing, covering supply chains, production processes, human factors, and software and hardware solutions. The joint efforts of industry and research partners from the iDev40 project thus demonstrate the significant contribution they are making to strengthening semiconductor manufacturing in Europe.

Prof. Keil and her research group , together with colleagues , are also represented with their own paper, which examines the competency requirements for employees in semiconductor production and in the context of digitalization. The open-access publication of both the conference proceedings and the conference paper was made possible, in part, thanks to financial support from the Prorector for Research’s Publication Fund.
