A total of 26 companies in Görlitz, Weißwasser and Zittau open their doors during the "late shift".
On Friday, November 8, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., visitors can take a look behind the scenes of companies in the district of Görlitz. The participating companies will present themselves with short introductory presentations or offer factory tours, often during ongoing production.
"Visitors can talk directly to employees, get a very personal impression of the company and employees can even show their families their own workplace," explains Andrea Behr, Managing Director of Europastadt GörlitzZgorzelec GmbH, which is responsible for business development in Görlitz. Together with her business development colleagues in Zittau and Weißwasser, she is now organizing the event for the second time with the aim of getting to know the local companies up close and highlighting career and training opportunities in the business location.

For the first time, visitors to the Görlitz "Spätschicht" will have the opportunity to reach the companies with a free shuttle bus, making it as easy as possible to visit several businesses at once. The three lines will take visitors from Jakobstraße to the Hagenwerder industrial estate, from the university campus to Gottlieb-Daimler-Straße and from Hagenwerder to Gottlieb-Daimler-Straße. All three lines start every hour on the hour and return to the starting point from the destination stop every half hour.

The "Spätschicht" project is a cooperation between the business development agencies of the three towns of Zittau, Weißwasser and Görlitz, the Görlitz and Zittau offices of the Dresden Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. The business development agencies of the three towns of Zittau, Weißwasser and Görlitz have applied for and been granted funding for the organization and implementation of the event via the Görlitz Skilled Workers Alliance. This measure is co-financed with tax revenue on the basis of the budget approved by the members of the Saxon state parliament.
