Summer, sport and sunshine!

Sports-loving students and staff are already looking forward to the traditional university sports festival on June 6, 2018, starting at 1:00 p.m. right on the Zittau campus, when the HSZG university sports team will once again delight everyone with a wide range of sports activities.

In addition to the sports festival participants, however, all other students and members of the HSZG community should mark this date on their calendars, because starting at 3:00 p.m., the University of Zittau/Görlitz will be hosting this year’s summer festival on the grounds in front of the Peter-Dierich-Haus (Theodor-Körner-Allee 8, 02763 Zittau, Building Z IV).

A festival for the whole family awaits visitors. Whether you prefer hearty fare, vegetarian options, or delicious Arabic cuisine: We cordially invite you to indulge in culinary delights while enjoying live music and the family-friendly stage program.

Among other highlights, look forward to Franziska Stölzel, who will enchant you with pop songs and modern interpretations of classic hits, while Daniel Hafner, a master’s student in health care management, performs well-known songs by Bob Dylan on stage. Let the rest of the program be a pleasant surprise.

The little ones won’t just get their fill from the ice cream truck. On the bounce house, the students of tomorrow can take their time exploring the university campus and let their imaginations run wild with face painting. Meanwhile, an Arabic coffee tent and Mister Bales’ cocktail bar will put the grown-ups in a vacation mood.

3:30 – 3:45 p.m.: “ ” with Felix Eschrich and Tanja Blencke—juggling act “Hard Workout”

4:00 – 4:30 p.m.: Saxon Klaxon – Saxophone music ranging from classical to contemporary

4:45 – 5:00 p.m.: Awards ceremony for the University-City-Company Run

5:00 – 5:30 p.m.: Daniel Hafner (Master’s student in health care management) – Folk music in the style of Bob Dylan

5:30 – 5:45 p.m.: Awards Ceremony for the University Sports Festival

5:45 – 6:15 p.m.: Franziska Stölzel (Master’s student in management of social change) – A journey through German pop hits from the 1950s to today

6:30 – 7:00 p.m.: Friedrich Wodarczack – Bossa Nova and More
