The Academic Choir's program on 29.01.17 includes madrigals and motets as well as arias from well-known operas.
The Academic Choir of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences and the International University Institute Zittau will once again sing its traditional end-of-semester concert on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 5 p.m. in the Görlitz auditorium of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
The program includes secular madrigals from the Baroque and modern eras, including works by Johann Jeep, Johann Rudolf Ahle, Melchior Vulpius, Werner Gneist and Hugo Distler as well as Neithard Bethke.
In addition, will perform solo arias from classical and romantic operas by Claudio Monteverdi, Antonio Caldara, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Engelbert Humperdinck, Antonio Vivaldi, Carl Maria von Weber and Willibald Gluck, among others.
The performers are eight trained vocal soloists from the Academic Choir, as well as the full Academic Choir. The overall direction and piano accompaniment will once again be in the hands of Prof. Dr. Neithard Bethke.
Admission to the concert, which is supported by gwz, , is free. A detailed program with further information will be available at the entrance. From experience, it is strongly advised to arrive in good time, as all auditorium concerts have always been overcrowded.
