End-of-semester concert in Görlitz

The University Choir of Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences and the International University Institute Zittau will perform on Sunday, January 29, 2017, at 5:00 p.m. in the Görlitz auditorium of Zittau/Görlitz.

The program features secular madrigals from the Baroque and modern periods, including works by Johann Jeep, Johann Rudolf Ahle, Melchior Vulpius, Werner Gneist, Hugo Distler, and Neithard Bethke.
The program will also feature solo arias from Classical and Romantic operas by composers such as Claudio Monteverdi, Antonio Caldara, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Engelbert Humperdinck, Antonio Vivaldi, Carl Maria von Weber, and Willibald Gluck.

The performers are eight vocally trained soloists from the University Choir, as well as the full University Choir. Overall direction and piano accompaniment are once again in the hands of Prof. Dr. Neithard Bethke.

Admission to the concert, which is sponsored by the gwz, is free. A detailed program with further information will be available at the entrance. Based on past experience, arriving early is strongly recommended, as all auditorium concerts have been packed to capacity every time.
