Six in one go

Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is advertising a total of six professorships for its Zittau and Görlitz campuses.

"We haven't seen anything like this since the 1990s," said Rector Prof. Friedrich Albrecht. Currently, six W2 professorships are being advertised simultaneously at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences: Inorganic Chemistry, Special Needs Education, communication psychology, Management of Service Enterprises, Industrial Engineering, and Fluid Mechanics. They are distributed across five faculties, with three each at the Zittau and Görlitz campuses. All of these are reappointments. This allows the university to ensure continuity in its teaching units as well as in research and knowledge transfer to the region.

In particular, this is intended to strengthen the university’s four pillars—engineering, natural sciences, social sciences, and economics—as well as the research priorities “Energy and Environment” and “Transformation Processes in Economy and Society.” “In addition to their teaching and research obligations, we expect our new professors to actively contribute to the further development of their respective fields and to serve as catalysts for new ideas within their future faculties,” said the rector. “In addition, they are expected to contribute to the university’s International Affairs efforts and to assume roles in academic self-governance.”
