On June 15, 2015, the Scientific Advisory Board of the Coordination Office for the Promotion of Equal Opportunity at Universities and Colleges in Saxony began its work. The members of the advisory board elected Prof. Dr. Ulrike Gräßel, professor of sociology and social policy at our university, as chair.
The advisory board’s task is to make recommendations for the further development of the Coordination Office and to provide guidance on setting priorities and defining medium- and long-term goals. “I look forward to our future collaboration and fruitful exchange with the members of the advisory board,” said Franziska Pestel, the director of the Coordination Office.
With Prof. Dr. Ulrike Gräßel (Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences), Prof. Dr. Irene Schneider-Böttcher (DIU), Dr. Sebastian Schröer (GEW), Dr. Anett Hermann, Prof. Dr. Anja Strobel (Chemnitz University of Technology), and Prof. Sabine Klinkert (Dresden University of Music), the Coordination Office has succeeded in recruiting outstanding experts and experienced professionals to serve on the Scientific Advisory Board. As a reflection of the close collaboration with the SMWK and the LaKoG Saxony, two permanent guests—Ulrike Jung (Gender Mainstreaming Officer, SMWK) and Karla Kebsch (Spokesperson for LaKoG Saxony)—were admitted to the advisory board.
At the first meeting in Dresden, Franziska Pestel reported on the establishment and current status of the Coordination Office and provided insight into potential topics and future priorities for the office’s work.
