On September 1, 2018, Michaela Heidig took over as interim academic director of the Language Center from Dr. Ute Richter. She earned her degree in translation at HSZG, in what was then Germany’s first degree programme in English/Polish translation.
Since 2007, she has worked as a freelance English instructor and translator for companies, educational institutions, and research institutes—with her own staff since 2015—and brings extensive entrepreneurial and professional expertise to this role. In 2015, Michaela Heidig returned to the university as a faculty member, worked as a translator on the “Blended Learning” project, and teaches English to university staff as part of the “Diversity as a Strength 2” project.
