With today’s inaugural meeting, the new University Executive Board of Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences has officially begun its work. Following the Senate’s election of the new vice rectors on March 17, the university’s leadership team is now complete.

The University Executive Board consists of Rector Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alexander Kratzsch, Chancellor Christoph Duscha, Vice President for Education and Sustainability Prof. Dr. phil. Małgorzata Maćkowiak, and Vice President for Research, Technology Transfer, and International Affairs Prof. Dr. rer. pol. Sophia Keil.

In addition to organizational matters regarding the rules of procedure, the first meeting also focused on substantive issues. Together, the participants set the course for the university’s strategic development.

“I look forward to working with my colleagues and our Chancellor. Together, we will continue to develop Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences and position it for a sustainable future, emphasizes Rector Prof. Kratzsch.

Following the inaugural meeting, work will now begin, with the primary focus over the next few years on implementing the University Development Strategy 2030+ and, consequently, on shaping the direction and positioning of Zittau/Görlitz for the long term, so that we can master the challenges of the future—for the university and its students, the region, and beyond.”
