The long-standing partner university UNECON of our Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences has constituted an International Supervisory Council ISC for the first time(www.en.unecon.ru).
This new management body advises the university's Rectorate on all matters relating to the development and implementation of the strategic realignment on the way to becoming one of the elite international universities. With excellent research, outstanding teaching, consistent transfer of knowledge into practice and even more internationalization, the Saint Petersburg State University of Economics aims to further expand its leading position in the stages 2020 to 2025.
Prof. Clemens Renker from the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences has been appointed to this committee (photo: 4th from right, front row with members of the Supervisory Board and Rectorate). Prof. Dr. Rudolf Faltermeier from the Technical University of Munich was elected Chairman. He was a long and successful member of the Presidium of the Bavarian Savings Banks Association in Munich, Chairman of the Management Board of Sparkasse Garmisch-Partenkirchen and a member of the Supervisory Board of many companies. As a lawyer, auditor and tax consultant, he brings extensive expertise and global networks with him. In addition to the Rector Prof. Dr. Igor A. Maximtsev, the committee includes Patricia Dowden, President of the Center for Business Ethics and Corporate Governance from Philadelphia/USA, Kari Hyppönen, President of the Baltic Sea Region University Network and OECD manager, the former Vice President of the Schleswig-Holstein State Parliament and current Director of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce Gabriele Kötschau and the renowned international expert and Director of the Institute for German and International Savings, Giro and Credit Law Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Uwe Schneider from the University of Mainz and TU Darmstadt.
