New bread roll provider in Zittau
Snack service at Building Z VII has been restored.
After the Dresden Student Services cafeteria, located in Building Z VII, closed at the end of the 2014–15 winter semester, the Dresden Student Services focused its student services at the Zittau campus on the main dining hall on Hochwaldstraße.
Since classes in Building Z VII sometimes end as late as 8:00 p.m., this situation was unacceptable to the Mechanical Engineering Student Council. Together with the Mechanical Engineering department leadership, they worked with the Dresden Student Services to find a solution. They also received support from Chancellor Karin Hollstein and the members of the Senate of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. This joint effort was successful.
At the start of the 2016 summer semester, a break room was set up in Room 107. With the newly installed bread roll vending machine, adequate break-time provisions are now available once again. The selection and prices for rolls and sweets are the same as those in the student canteen. The vending machine is restocked daily by the staff of the Zittau student canteen.
