Nepal meets Görlitz

On October 12, graduate Kamila Hrubá visited the HSZG on her way between Great Britain and India.

On 12.10.2107, our graduate Kamila Hrubá (ATb08) made a brief stopover at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences on her way between the UK and India to tell the students on the "Business and Languages" course about her professional career after completing her Bachelor's degree in "English/Czech Translation".

After completing her Master's degree in "Project Management" at IHI Zittau, she moved to Nepal. There she worked for almost a year as an English teacher in a small village and a year later as an assistant to the Consul General of the Czech Republic in the capital Kathmandu. Her extensive range of duties here also included interpreting and translating.

Since returning to her home town of Liberec in northern Bohemia, she has translated for renowned Czech publishers in Czech, German and English. She brought some of the books she translated with her to Görlitz. She currently also works for Czech travel agencies and travels with tour groups in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

In passing, she mentioned that she had met the Dalai Lama and would soon be studying in India. But there was no time left to talk about it ...

90 minutes of enthusiasm for the country and its people, other cultures, views of life and the world, enthusiasm for traveling and, last but not least, enthusiasm for translating books that express these views of life and the world.

A successful afternoon for everyone who attended.
