Morning land and evening star

Invitation to the Art Night of the Culture and Management course June 20, 2015, Haus Klingewalde, Görlitz

Those who study in Görlitz experience the world; this semester the Orient! We cordially invite you to the Art Night on Saturday, June 20, 2015, 7:30 pm, at Haus Klingewalde, Klingewalde 40, 02828 Görlitz. The Culture and Management students, their lecturers and our guests have explored the theme of "Morning Land and Evening Star" and are looking forward to presenting the results to you in sound, play and image.

The idea of the Filled Plate once triggered the crusades of the Europeans to the Orient. We owe countless cultural elements to the latter: the bells, the monastery garden, the model for Dante's Divine Comedy, the guitar (Persian Tar) and Mozart's Seraglio, the Enlightenment philosophers their coffee, Goethe his love songs. Indeed, even the implementation of Luther's teachings would hardly have come about without the indirect help of the Ottoman Sultan. No Occident without the Orient. Above both regions, the evening star of love repeatedly turns into the morning star of an active new beginning.
Admission is free. Thanks to the kind support of the Landskron Brewery, refreshments will be provided and, with the help of the Studentenwerk Dresden and the Faculty Student Committee, music will continue well into the night.
