More than just chatting about movies!

The Saxon Film Academy invites you to Konsulplatz 1 in Görlitz for entertaining conversations about the journey to filmmaking, Görlitz as a film city, and much more. On Friday, March 15, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., visitors can experience the pure magic of film while enjoying snacks, drinks, and an exciting program.

This open house offers a very special opportunity for anyone interested to get to know the Saxon Film Academy in Görlitz and its unique approach to training and continuing education for film professions, and to learn firsthand about the upcoming courses and seminars.

For example, the “Film Production Assistant” course starting on April 15, 2024, or a new series of weekend seminars on the field of film production design and set design, which begins on April 6, 2024. The “Introductory Weekend Seminars” on the topics of “Dramaturgy” and “Camera & Lighting” also offer interesting insights and practical tools for anyone with a genuine interest in the film industry and will leave you wanting more.

A special highlight is a panel discussion with six SFA instructors, who have traveled all the way from Berlin, Leipzig, and Potsdam to discuss their film careers and present their seminars at the SFA in Görlitz.

The information day will also conclude on a high note with a screening of films created by SFA students. “The team at the Saxon Film Academy is very proud of its graduates and is already looking forward to welcoming more prospective students to the open house, ” said Bernd Hölsken, director of the Saxon Film Academy.
