Master's degree programme in “Mechanical Engineering and Energy Technology”

The three-semester Master's course at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering starts in the summer semester of 2016.

Starting in the upcoming 2016 summer semester, Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences will offer a new three-semester Master's degree programme in “Mechanical Engineering and Energy Technology.” The program begins on March 7, 2016. The application deadline is February 26, 2016.

The Master's degree programme qualifies students in the specializations of engineering design, production engineering, polymer technologies, and energy and environmental engineering. In these areas of specialization, students build upon the foundational knowledge gained from previous Bachelor’s or Diplom degree courses to acquire in-depth and specialized expertise in their field. Depending on their chosen specialization, typical career paths for graduates include, for example, mechanical engineering, plant engineering, and automotive engineering; the energy sector and manufacturing industry; as well as regulatory and supervisory agencies and research institutions. The admission requirement for this master’s program is a Bachelor’s or diploma degree (at least 210 ECTS) in Mechanical Engineering, energy and environmental engineering, or comparable engineering programs.

Last year, the university’s Faculty of Mechanical Engineering completely redesigned the content of its degree programs and adapted them to meet new industry requirements. In addition to the bachelor’s programs in Mechanical Engineering and energy and environmental engineering, the program now also includes the three-semester Master's degree programme in Mechanical Engineering and energy technology.
