"Join in" with the WSV

Under this theme, the first “WSV” of the year will take place on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, between 11:00 a.m . and 1:00 p.m . in the foyer of the student canteen in Zittau.

Every year, we spend a lot of money on Christmas gifts and receive things that weren’t on our wish lists. Unfortunately, some of these good gifts turned out to be just that—good. Often, these gifts gather dust on our shelves or get forgotten in drawers. It’s not uncommon for us to sort through them years later and throw them in the trash.

That’s about to change. For every gift we no longer want, there’s someone out there looking for exactly that item. We just have to find the right person.

That’s exactly the idea behind a swap meet, and when we find someone to swap with, we’re even doing something good for the environment. By swapping, we extend a product’s life cycle and can thus not only avoid waste but also reduce the energy and resources needed to manufacture new products.

The best part, though, is that it’s absolutely free, and the worst Christmas gift among all participants will be awarded a surprise prize. So join in and win!!!

At the same time, the annual book flea market will take place at the Bibo. From 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., you’ll have the chance to buy discarded books for just one euro.
