Preparations for the University Information Day on 14.01.2016 are in full swing.
Under the motto "Get to know us!", Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences will be opening its doors on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at its two campuses in Zittau and Görlitz. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., prospective students and their parents can look forward to an extensive, interesting and varied program.
The central venue in Zittau is the Peter-Dierich-Haus, lecture hall building (House Z IV) at Theodor-Körner-Allee 8 in Zittau. The focus here is on engineering, natural sciences and economics with courses in business administration, chemistry, electrical engineering, energy and environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, molecular biotechnology, ecology and environmental protection, industrial engineering as well as housing and real estate management. University lecturers and students will be on hand to offer advice on the degree courses. Numerous short lectures on the different fields, "taster opportunities" in regular studies and the opportunity to visit the modern, well-equipped laboratories will provide a good insight into the study conditions at the university. Students can also obtain detailed advice on the wide range of study abroad opportunities. 122 partner universities in 38 countries worldwide provide a good basis for this.
The Cooperative Study Program with Integrated Training (KIA) has continuously developed into a trademark of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences since 1997. Over 1,000 students have already taken this path since then. A discussion round on this form of study is offered with a practice partner.
"Practice-oriented young professionals who learn from scratch what is important in a company - that is what our cooperation partners are looking for," states Hartmut Paetzold, KIA Officer to the Rector.
At the university location in Görlitz, the auditorium in Hermann-Heitkamp-Haus, G I, Furtstraße 2, is the central point of contact for general information, accommodation, BaföG and studying abroad. However, the student advisory services for the degree programs in computer science, information and communication management, the still young degree program in business and computer science, the business degree programs in economics and languages (Polish and Czech), culture and management, tourism management, health care management as well as the social science degree programs in social work, inclusion studies, childhood education and communication psychology can also be found in this area. The faculties and degree programs offer a diverse program. There are also "taster opportunities" in regular studies, participation in lectures and discussion groups as well as the opportunity to visit buildings and laboratories.
At both locations, you can find out about living in the university towns and taste the food in the canteen at student prices.
