Teachers from the Oberschule Innenstadt Görlitz explore the new DLR_School_Lab Hochschule Zittau/Görlitz at the HSZG.
In the summer, 20 teachers from the Oberschule Innenstadt secondary school in Görlitz visited the new school laboratory: Juniorakademie/DLR_School_Lab Hochschule Zittau/Görlitz in the Mandau-Höfe in Zittau. They were given a general overview of the premises and equipment, but were also able to get hands-on.
During their visit, the teachers were able to slip into the role of students and try out various experiments. They learned about the properties of infrared rays, the proper use of pipettes, how heat pumps and Stirling engines work, fluorescence microscopy, the use of plant fibers in the sustainable production of new materials, fluorescence and chemiluminescence and the body's own conversion of oxygen and carbon dioxide.
Following the introductory event, a date was of course also set for a visit by pupils from the Oberschule Innenstadt. We are sure that they will have just as much fun as their teachers.
In cooperation with the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences has created the DLR_School_Lab Hochschule Zittau/Görlitz, a modern extracurricular place of learning where current research topics can be experienced through independent experimentation.
