With the 32nd edition, scheduled for release in 2018, Prof. Dr. iur. Erik Hahn of the Faculty of Business Administration and Engineering Management has taken over as editor of the concise textbook *BGB leicht gemacht* (The German Civil Code Made Easy), published by Ewald von Kleist Verlag.
First published in 1965, the textbook has traditionally been aimed not only at law students in their first semesters but also specifically addresses issues in civil law that are significant for the basic legal education of students in other disciplines. With a total circulation of over one million copies sold, this book—structured around practice cases—is one of the most widely used legal textbooks.
Following a generational change among the editors and authors, the textbook was significantly revised for this new edition and enriched with current focal points. Among other things, it was based on the civil law lectures given by Prof. Dr. Erik Hahn in various degree programmes at the faculties W, MK, N, and M at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
