Bibigul Sembayeva and Anastassiya Pryatko, students on the Master's degree course inIntegrated Management, and Zonia-Stefania Szymanowski, a lecturer in the Faculty of Managerial and Cultural Studies, enjoyed a very special evening last week at the State Parliament in Dresden , where Saxony's Commissioner for Foreigners and Integration, Geert Mackenroth, and the President of the State Parliament, Dr. Matthias Rößler, had invited them to a parliamentary evening.
Geert Mackenroth said in advance: "In our Saxon research institutes, universities and colleges, foreign employees, professors and group leaders, junior professors and lecturers are a permanent fixture and a mainstay. It is important to me to make their valuable contribution to the quality of our science location Saxony more visible and to acknowledge them, especially as this group does not have its own "lobby"." The three representatives of our university made extensive use of the opportunity to talk to international members of other Saxon universities, members of the Saxon state parliament and members of the cabinet.
"We got to know a lot of interesting people and talked about problems, but also about prospects for foreign students and academics in Saxony. It is interesting to see how many doors open to determined students if you are only aware of the many opportunities on offer."The parliamentary evening took place in this form and with this group of participants for the first time, and if it were up to our students, certainly not for the last time.
