At the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz, in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science', a part-time position (20 hours/week) is available as of 01.07.2026 as a

Laboratory Engineer Electrical Engineering/Automation/Railway Engineering (m/f/d)
- Reference: 13-2026 LI Automation -

to be filled for a limited period until 31.08.2027.

The position essentially involves the following tasks:

  • Designing and assisting in the development of laboratory equipment, its operation and the maintenance of electrical engineering/automation/railway engineering laboratory areas,
  • Supervision and implementation of student laboratory practical courses in the fundamentals of electrical engineering and electronics, process automation, railway-specific control and safety technology,
  • Engineering tasks in the interests of the department as a whole, in particular participation in the further development of the field of automation,
  • Collaboration in the recruitment of new students (trade fairs, student events, student internships) and in the progressive International Affairs of the course.

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • Completed university education in the field of electrical engineering/automation,
  • in-depth knowledge and professional experience in the field of process automation, or another relevant professional field of electrical engineering/automation,
  • German at level C1 and English at level B2, as laboratory practicals are carried out in both languages.

In addition, the following are desirable

  • Knowledge and experience in the design and development of laboratory equipment for teaching,
  • university didactic skills,
  • Professional experience in the field of student education and experience/knowledge of the university teaching process,
  • Professional experience in the design and development of laboratory equipment,
  • Professional engineering experience in the field of railroad technology - control and safety technology,
  • Driving license class B.

If the personal requirements are met, remuneration will be paid up to pay group 11 TV-L. The 1st place of work is Zittau.
