Culture and Mechanical Engineering

On March 9, 2017, starting at 6:00 p.m., Max-Walter Weise, an up-and-coming artist from Freiberg, will be a guest at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Zittau.

His father, Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Volkmar Weise, was a professor of fluid mechanics in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and was highly regarded by colleagues and students alike as an outstanding expert.

Sadly, he passed away far too soon on May 9, 2016. This makes it all the more gratifying that his son, Max-Walter, will now be presenting his work at the university. Max-Walter Weise fearlessly tackles a wide variety of topics and only very rarely steps aside when they seem too daunting. His short stories and songs deal, among other things, with a shared apartment, gods, mathematics, love, the wrath of the pharaoh, and traffic jams.

The artist invites you to lose yourself in the observation of everyday life—until it becomes comical. Look forward to this cross-faculty / trans-faculty event.
