Until next Monday, January 15, 2018, interested students can still apply for graduate studies beginning in the 2018 summer semester online . They can choose from the following Master's degree programmes. The corresponding admission requirements are listed for each degree programme.
For the first time, students with a background in the natural sciences have the opportunity to enroll in the Master's degree programme in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (M.Sc.) .
Degree programmes beginning in the summer semester of 2018
- mechatronics 210 ECTS credits required (applications also accepted during the winter semester)

- Energy Engineering (Applications also accepted during the winter semester) 210 ECTS credits required; a preparatory semester is available for Bachelor’s graduates with 180 ECTS credits
- Mechanical Engineering (Applications also accepted during the winter semester) 210 ECTS credits required; a preparatory semester is available for Bachelor’s graduates with 180 ECTS credits
- New! Pharmaceutical Biotechnology 210 ECTS credits required; starting in the 2018–19 winter semester, a preparatory semester is planned for applicants with 180 ECTS credits
- biotechnology and applied ecology 210 ECTS credits required for summer semester entry (180 ECTS credits for winter semester entry). For the “Conservation and Use of Biodiversity” track, submit an application to the HSZG; for the “Environmental Sciences and Biotechnology” track, submit an application to the IHI Zittau

Places still available in the Master's degree programmes offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences
Applications are also still being accepted through January 15, 2018, for the consecutive Master's degree programme in “management of social change” and the part-time Master's degree programme in “Social Gerontology.”
The consecutive master’s program is designed for bachelor’s degree holders with a degree in the humanities, business, or a related field. The curriculum focuses on transformation research, organizational sociology, and management processes in changing economic and social systems, as well as empirical social research. Master’s students are integrated into current research projects at the university and affiliated institutes. The program director is the renowned sociologist Prof. Dr. habil. Raj Kollmorgen, who is regarded as an expert in the field of organizational sociology and elite studies.
The curriculum of the part-time Master’s program in Gerontology is designed for individuals working in the fields of elder care or related areas. The program focuses on teaching gerontological theory and intervention processes, as well as the sociopolitical contexts in which aging takes place in society. Students are actively involved in existing research projects and also gain theory-based knowledge of empirical social research. The program director is the internationally renowned sociologist Prof. Dr. Andreas Hoff, who, among other things, has several years of teaching and research experience at the University of Oxford (UK).
