KIA is a dual university program that integrates vocational training and leads to two degrees: Skilled Worker (with an IHK or HWK chamber examination) and a university degree (Bachelor’s or Diplom). You’ll earn your skilled worker certification after a shortened two-and-a-half-year training program, culminating in an exam administered by the IHK or HWK, and you’ll receive your university degree after an additional two years (for the Bachelor’s program) or two-and-a-half years (for the Diplom program).
