This has probably never happened before! On Thursday, true to their band name, the university's trio Adhoc played in the foyer of the canteen. They started at 11.30 a.m. so that the early guests could be greeted musically. The three musicians played for around an hour, playing Christmas tunes in a jazzy style, with well-known jazz standards from the American songbook interspersed throughout the program. The three musicians Arne Maiwald, Chris Fischer and Friedrich Wodarczack were clearly enjoying themselves and the surprised and happy faces of many visitors showed that they were enjoying themselves. After an hour, the three musicians also needed some refreshment and after a venison goulash with bean vegetables, they went into the second round, which didn't end until around 2 p.m. as the joy of playing continued. Not only many happy faces but also direct praise, also from our chancellor, Mrs. Hollstein, were a welcome thank you for the three ad hoc people, whereby many a guest wished to experience such a musical diversion more regularly during the canteen. A big thank you to the three musicians, together with good wishes for the festivities and a happy New Year, in which hopefully more performances by the Adhoc university band will follow.
